Shore Poets

Alison Reeves is not a poet, but started her association with Shore Poets through music, playing fiddle at events. She plays traditional Scottish and Irish music and has done since a child, mostly for her own enjoyment and often for ceilidh dancing as one third of the band Minnow.
Alison's working life has been in community arts, starting as a drama practitioner for theatres such as Eden Court Inverness, the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh and the Adam Smith in Kirkcaldy. She has worked all over Scotland, from Sutherland to Ayrshire and is currently the manager of WHALE Arts Agency, a community arts centre in Wester Hailes.
Shore Poets combines a few of Alison's favourite things – literature, music, live performance, and voluntary action!
